Historically, DTG Testing and the Zoo have played an instrumental part in the UK’s digital switchover as well as the launch of Freeview HD and the deployment of LTE.
Number of receivers available in the DTG Zoo, per country
Currently, the Zoo holds over 400 receivers and we aim to have and maintain a representative device for every Freeview, Freeview HD and Freesat receiver available in the UK market in our collection. Our receiver list is further supplemented by UK market data, meaning we know the overall market size for specific receivers as well as being aware of the scope of any potential and predictable problems.
The Zoo, housed in a state-of-the-art facility benefiting from climate and gas suppression fire control, is designed to be able to simulate a variety of broadcast and coexistence scenarios by feeding in one or more signals and viewing the effect on devices. As such, the RF feed is fully flexible in respect of signal strength, quality and configuration. Additionally, all receivers with IP network capability are connected to ensure interactive services are available and that each receiver’s software is kept up to date.
